A cream tea fundraiser held at Creslow Manor in Aylesbury raised more than £3,000 for farming charity the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).

The event on July 17 was held by kind invitation of Brian and Linda Lear.

This year’s Creslow Manor event was supported by KAW Services, Aylesbury Honda, Aylesbury Nissan, Tuckett Farm Services and Heygates (who provided the scone mix). More than 200 people attended, with committee members Janice Read and Jill Cochrane raising more than £800 on the raffle. The auction was led by John Blanchard of Thame Farmers Market.

Jenni Thompson, R.A.B.I south central regional manager, said: “The weather was fantastic and the venue perfect. It was a fabulous British afternoon out – tea, scones and music from Sarah Oliver in a beautiful garden.”

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I) supports farming people in hardship, giving out grants of around £2m per year.
