County’s unsung heroes praised at church service

The unsung heroes of Bucks were given a warm tribute by the councy council’s chairman at a special civic church service.

In front of more than 100 guests from the public, private and voluntary sector, chairman Zahir Mohammed paid tribute to the thousands ‘who provide services for others and all those who give of their time in voluntary work’ on Sunday.

The chairman made community service and volunteering the theme of his church service in St Mary’s, Princes Risborough, and a collection of £472 from the congregation was divided equally between St Mary’s Church and Heart of Bucks – formerly Buckinghamshire Community Foundation.

He also publicly thanked people who work with young people in schools, and who enable the county’s frail and disabled people to live life with dignity.

And as the county’s Armed Forces Champion, he paid tribute to Bucks’ service personnel serving around the world.
