Aylesbury Vale residents will not be asked to pay council tax towards district services by 2023, if ambitious plans are realised.
Aylesbury Vale District Council wants to become tax free within seven years, a move which would currently save Band D ratepayers £2.66 a week.
District bosses believe they can make up the £8m currently brought in from council tax by generating income through commerical activities and subscription services.
The saving would only apply to the AVDC part of the precept – other authorities such as police and the county council charge separately. If also assumes that the two-tier council structure in Bucks remains.
