An elderly man who died after his car was in a crash with a paramedic car on blue lights has been named.

John Dawson, 85, was driving a silver Mercedes when it was involved in a collision with a marked response car on the Aylesbury-bound carriageway of the A41 in Waddesdon on Sunday, March 30.

The response car was travelling to an emergency call under blue lights at the time, just after 6.30pm.

Mr Dawson, of Reading, was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but died four days later on April 2.

The driver of the response car was treated at the scene on the junction of Blackgrove Road for minor injuries.
