Bucks health watchdog wants assurance of changes after Joanne Lockham inquest
A NEW local health and social care watchdog says it wants to see changes to surgical procedure and training following the Joanne Lockham inquest.
The Buckinghamshire Local Involvement Network has announced that it is to seek independent assurance of the changes made by Bucks Hospital Trust following the death of Joanne Lockham. The LINk, an independent statutory body with a remit covering all local health and social care services, will examine the Trust's action plan made following Mrs Lockham's death and how it has been implemented.
Chair of the LINk, Andrew Clark, said:
"Residents of Bucks are quite rightly anxious about the standards of care at Stoke Mandeville hospital following the inquest results on the death of Joanna Lockham in 2007. The LINk will act to provide some independent assurance for Bucks residents that the hospital has learnt the lessons of this very tragic incident. The LINk warmly invites anyone who is concerned by this incident, and who wants to get involved in making sure that it cannot recur, to contact them".
