Metro Bank will be holding two days of ‘celebrations’ during its opening weekend at Friars Square.
The bank, which opens on Friday, September 25, has transformed the Market Square entrance to the shopping centre.
It will employ 20 people, and be led by manager Gary Bridgeman.
Grand opening festivities include stilt walkers, face painting, performing dogs and live music.
A statement added: “At Metro Bank, Dogs Rule, so customers are invited to bring their canine companions along with them.”
Metro Bank launched in July 2010 with a ‘focus on providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience to customers – testament in its early until late, seven day store opening’.
It will provide free coin counting for customers and non-customers and safe deposit boxes for customers’ valuables. It will open from 8am to 8pm from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays, 362 days a year.
