Aylesbury mayor Tuffail Hussain joined in the fun during a visit to Willows Day Nursery in Aylesbury to judge an Easter bonnet parade.

Mr Hussain, who tried on some of the lovingly-created bonnets, said choosing the winners was ‘egg-stremely difficult’.

He presented certificates to all who took part.

The four winners chosen across the age groups were Sonika Dhawan, aged one year and one month, Abie Purdew, one year and seven months, Lucy King, three years and Isaac Beaton, four years and seven months.

Obehi Ukiwa, aged three years and 11 months, presented Cllr Hussain with a handmade card and flowers to thank him for coming.

Deputy nursery manager Jane Hobbs, who also posed for pictures with the mayor, said: “Our parents are always wonderfully supportive of all the themed activities at nursery but the Easter bonnet parade is a favourite.

“It is clear that parents and children spent a lot of time and had a lot of fun producing these creations.”
