Aylesbury family pay tribute to their "Little princess"
THE Zouhri family from Walton Court are grieving the loss of their daughter, after she died from multi-organ failure as she was treated for childhood Leukaemia.
Four-year-old Amira was originally taken to GPs for an on-going cough. She was diagnosed with Leukaemia months later.
In September last year, Amira's mother, Chadia, took her daughter to the hospital with a cough. She then suffered multiple organ failure because of a rare disorder called Steven Johnson Syndrome.
For months, the child suffered from a condition which seemed to be getting worse.
On February 1, Amira was diagnosed with Leukaemia and sadly had a cardiac arrest the same day. She was put on life support. Six days after she made a remarkable recovery.
Amira continued the course of anti-biotics during her chemotherapy to stop her catching pneumonia. Her recovery was short lived, as the young girl died six weeks and five days later in her mother's arms - two hours after switching the life support machine off.
Amira's mother and father, Omar, are on a quest to stop the heartbreak they have gone through, happening to other families.
"We would like to make people aware of this dreadful condition and for all parents to be aware of Leukaemia," said Chadia.
The family are still trying to come to terms with Amira's death and are now appealing for anyone raising money for a cancer charity, to do so in her name.
