Aylesbury central by-election result

The Liberal Democrats have held on to the Aylesbury Central ward following a by-election.

Graham Webster beat three other candidates in the election which took place to find a replacement for Keith Turner.

He will now be the councillor for the area on Aylesbury Vale District Council.

Mr Turner left the council to take up a job at Aylesbury Town Council as the town clerk.

The results for the Aylesbury Central by-election are as follows:

Graham Webster (Liberal Democrats) 354

Mark Winn (Conservative) 213

Michael Beall (Labour) 67

Brian Adams (UK Independence Party) 65

Spoilt 2

Turnout 26.9 per cent

Another election took place in the Luffield Abbey division following the resignation of Stefan Balbuza.

In Luffied Abbey the candidates are:

Mark Benson (Independent)

Pearl Lewis (Conservative)

Ian Metherell (Liberal Democrat)

John Russell (UK Independence Party)

At the last two elections in 2003 and 2007 the Conservative party has had comfortable wins.
