ANCIENT REMAINS OF OLD QUARRENDON COULD BE SAVED
(WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18) THE ancient remains of the old village of Quarrendon could be safeguarded.
A campaign to protect the historical site near Aylesbury from building development appeared to have failed after Aylesbury Vale District Council refused to be responsible for the site.
But Bucks County Council may be coming to the rescue.
As part of a review into what green spaces are needed in the county in the light of the housing expansion, a recommendation was put to Bucks County Council's cabinet on Monday that a meeting should be arranged.
Cllr Richard Pushman, chairman of BCC's overview and scrutiny committee for community and environmental services, which carried out the review, said Bucks is privileged to have such a monument.
