WHAT do you think of library services in Bucks?
That's the question being asked by Bucks County Council's Adults' Services Overview and Scrutiny committee who want to get in touch with what the public think of the County's library services.

The committee want to hear about what services are used and ideas that users have to improve libraries for the future.

Residents are invited to attend the next Adults' Services Scrutiny committee meetings to contribute to discussions around this important area of work. The meetings start at 0945 in County Hall, Aylesbury on the:

The committee is carrying out a review of library services and facilities within the county to find out what is working well and what can be improved. At the same time members are visiting other authorities across the country to look at other options and how these can be taken on in Buckinghamshire. In July the committee will present its recommendations to the County Council's Cabinet Member for Culture and Learning for consideration.

Committee Chairman Bruce Allen said: ''Libraries are an important part of Buckinghamshire's local communities, we need to support them to change to ensure that they can adapt and survive for future generations".

The latest county council residents' survey showed that 58 per cent of the adult population had used a Buckinghamshire library in the last 12 months.

However nationally, people are borrowing fewer books and Buckinghamshire itself has seen a 6.11 per cent fall in loans in the last three years.
