The energy company has applied for planning permission on the fields just off the main road in Bishopstone to build a large electric sub station, which will be used to power the expansion of Aylesbury.
Stone, Bishopstone and Hartwell Parish Council asked for tonight's consultation with EDF on July 8 but originally it was to be between EDF and the parish council.
But since finding out the proposed turnout of the meeting EDF requested for the consultation to be delayed so they can form a presentation which will answer questions from the residents.
EDF spokesman Jessica Gallagher said: "We are very keen to meet with residents at a later date to fully answer their questions, which is why it was decided to postpone the meeting for a few weeks."
One of the main objections which has been raised so far is the location of the site being within a couple of hundred metres of a conservation area.
One concerned resident said: "Many in the village are so alarmed and so shocked by the sheer scale and inappropriate nature of the application.
"We can't believe EDF have chosen this site, we can only assume that this presents the cheapest option."
