A 36 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following this morning's crash in Friarage Road, Aylesbury.
Police were called at 9.35am this morning (25/11), to reports that a yellow Mercedes Sprinter van, a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and a bus had been involved in an accident at the intersection with Friarage Road and Station Boulevard near the Bourg Walk bridge.
A pedestrian was trapped under the white Vauxhall Vivaro and he has been taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with serious head injuries.
He has since been transfered to the JR2 Hospital in Oxford.
The driver of the bus and the driver of the Mercedes van were also taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes van has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is now in police custody.
The road has now been cleared and is open once more.
Bucks Fire and Rescue have released details of the role they played in freeing the pedestrian.
They used high-pressure airbags to release a man trapped underneath the van following a collision in Aylesbury this morning.
Station Manager Neil Boustred from Aylesbury Fire Station said: "Firefighters were able to free the pedestrian after lifting the van using high-pressure airbags. Our Urban Search and Rescue crews were on standby with heavy duty rams and airbags."
