AYLESBURY goes Roald Dahl mad today, as the annual festival in celebration of the great childrens' author takes place.
Events on today include
ROALD DAHL FESTIVAL: Parade commences at 11am with other activities all day. This year's theme is The Twits.
A colourful parade of Dahl creations will take place in and around the Market Square and Kingsbury areas of Aylesbury. Other locations such as the Bucks County Museum, Roald Dahl Gallery, Library, Civic Centre and the nearby Queens Park Art Centre will all have special activities going on throughout the day.
ROALD DAHL DAY: 11am to 3pm at the King's Head, Aylesbury. Crafts, storytelling, book swap shop. Free entry, small charge for some activities.
DAHL EVENT: Roald Dahl Festival at the Buckinghamshire County Museum, 11am to 4pm. Meet the Twits and have a wizzpopping day of activities at the County Museum as part of the Roald Dahl Festival in Aylesbury. Free entry.
Special fun day offer - Reduced price ticket for the Roald Dahl Children's Gallery. £2 for 30 mins, includes a drink in the Garden Cafe.
GARDENS: 11, The Paddocks, Wendover, garden open as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
White garden, Austin roses and more. From 2pm to 6pm, £2 admission. For more gardens pick up a yellow NGS booklet from TICs or Libraries.
FETE: Overstone Combined School Summer Fete, Church Street, Wing. 12pm -to 2.30pm. £1 adults, 50p children. £2.50 family ticket. Free parking. Mini Olympics, mega slide, MK Dons mascots, Mooie & Donny, beer tent, bar-B-Q, stalls. Lots of fun for young and old!
