Georgian Fun Day at County Museum
THERE is a Georgian Family Fun Day at the Buckinghamshire County Museum in Aylesbury today.
WALK: Sponsored Walk for Diabetes UK. Meet Wilstone Village Hall, near Tring, to set off at 10am for a 10 mile walk, or 10.30am for a 5 mile walk. All welcome. For more information, contact Ken Parker 01296 486269.
WALK: Near Dunsmore. 10am to 12.30pm. A steady paced walk around this lovely hill, with frequent stops to look at habitats. £5 per person. Booking essential. Call the National Trust on 0871 5271 887.
PLANTS: Kimble and Ellesborough Horticultural Society Plant Sale. 10am at Ellesborough Village Hall, Butlers Cross. Come early (everything likely to have gone by 11am!) to buy your bedding plants. perennials and vegetables.
FAMILY HISTORY: Bucks Genealogical Society. Talk on Prim and Proper Methodists: Neil Rees tells us about a very vociferous group in Bucks, the Primitive Methodists, who broke away from the Wesleyans and harked back to the barn meetings of old. The meeting is 3pm at Mandeville School, Ellen Rd, Aylesbury (near SM Hospital). Members free. Non members very welcome. Easy parking.
WILDLIFE: Junior Springwatch, 11am to 3pm at Quarrendon and Meadowcroft Community Centre, Aylesbury Birds of prey, ferret racing, willow weaving, bugs and reptiles, many games and activities. Free, all welcome. Children must be accompanied. Details on 01296 585188.
