REFURBISHMENT of Aylesbury's bus station is set to enter a new stage, causing some services to change departure points.
Short-term parking outside the County offices in Walton Street will be suspended while the area is used as bus stops.

The next stage of work, some of which affects Great Western Street, starts on Tuesday May 27 and will continue until about the end of July.

All services currently in Great Western Street - Red Route 9, Blue Route 2 Haydon Hill, Green Route 4 Walton Court, Route 8 to Brunel Park and Star 3 - will move to new bus stops outside the County offices in Walton Street.

From May 27 temporary bus stops in Great Western Street will close.

Inside the station, bus services will rotate from bays as work progresses.

Also, for three weekends in June - planned for the 7/8, 14/15 and 21/22 - overnight and Sunday closures of the bus station will be necessary from 7pm on Saturdays until 6am on the following Monday.

All services during these closure times will be relocated outside County Hall in Walton Street.

Val Letheren, Buckinghamshire's Cabinet Member for Transportation, said: "These essential works will, no doubt, cause some inconvenience to bus passengers, for which I apologise.

"However, I can also assure the public that we will do everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum and get the work finished as quickly as we can.

"The payoff will be a much more pleasant environment and travel experience for our bus users."

Notices keeping users informed of the changes will be posted in the bus station and in Great Western Street and bus passengers are asked to check them frequently.
