WITH the recent hot weather bringing more bikers out onto the roads, Bucks County Council is urging riders to take part in extra safety training.
In 2007, three motorcyclists were killed, and 46 seriously injured on Buckinghamshire's roads.

Bikers represent only 1 per cent of traffic, yet make up 17 per cent of those killed or seriously injured on the roads.

The Casualty Reduction Team at Bucks CC is urging anyone riding a motorcycle to take further training in an attempt to help prevent unnecessary tragedy on our roads.

Their campaign `Be a Better Biker,', allows bikers to be put to the test by highly trained assessors and shown how they can improve their skills to make biking even more enjoyable.

The courses and run through until September. Remaining dates and venues are for June 7, and July 12, at the Winslow centre, and on June 28 and September 6 at Princes Risborough Fire Station.

revious attendee Graham James, from Aston Clinton, said: "I think it is an excellent day. My instructors advice was extremely useful and constructive, it has made me a safer rider. I will be recommending it to my friends."

For further details about these courses please visit the county council's website or call the Road Safety Team on 01296 382450.
