AN AYLESBURY man has been sentenced to four years in prison for stealing more than £25,000 from Gala Bingo in the town.
Shane Trevor Grooby, aged 33, from Harvey Road, carried out two burglaries, one at Rivets Sports and Social Club, Mandeville Road and one at Gala Bingo, High Street in December of last year.

He forced entry to the Rivits Sports and Social Club via the rear entrance, but was challenged by staff and he left emptied handed.

Unsuccessful at Rivits he went on to Gala Bingo where he gained access to a safe and stole over £25,000.

Aylesbury Vale A/Det Insp, Dominic Williamson, said: "I am pleased with the courts decision to sentence Grooby to over four years for his offences.

"Thanks to the team work, dedication and thorough investigations carried out by the detectives and police officers, Grooby has been locked up and stopped from re-offending in Aylesbury.

"We will continue to work hard to lock up anyone who chooses to commit a crime and strive to make Aylesbury Vale a safer place to live and work."
