Producers Paul Holman Associates are hoping Jack and the Beanstalk will give them another record season after last year's hugely successful production of Cinderella, starring Bernie Clifton.
The story of Jack and the Beanstalk follows the exploits of our hero Jack, who travels to market to sell his much loved cow, Daisy.
On his way to market he is tricked into exchanging Daisy for a bag of beans.
Upon returning home Jack tells his mother how pleased he is with the price he received for the beast.
She then discovers that Jack has been deceived and what he thought to be a bag of gold is in fact a bag of useless beans.
She throws the beans out of the window in disgust and tells Jack what a failure he has been.
In the morning, the beans have miraculously turned into a beanstalk of epic proportions.
The beanstalk gives Jack the opportunity to climb to Giantland above the clouds, home of the fearsome giant Blunderbore who has been terrorising the village where Jack lives.
This is Jack's opportunity to prove his worth and with the aid of our environmentally friendly Fairy Organic, he defeats the giant by chopping down the beanstalk.
This GIANT Christmas pantomime promises a spectacular all-star cast including top West End musical performers as well as some TV personalities.
Jack and the Beanstalk opens at The Civic Centre on December 8 2009 and runs until Wednesday December 30 2009.

Which personality do you think will star in this year's pantomime?
