Aylesbury MP David Lidington has urged people to speak up over plans to place 114 permanent residential pitches for travellers and gypsies in Bucks.
Mr Lidington learnt about the plans are reading the latest recommendations regarding provisions for travellers and gypsies as part of the South East Plan.

He said:

"The South East Plan will affect everyone in Buckinghamshire. Our local Councils will have to ensure that their own planning policies conform to these targets. If local residents and Parish Councils want to oppose or support the plan, they need to speak up now."

If constituents wish to view the recommendations in full or to comment on the plans, then they should visit the Government Office for the South East website here.

What do you think about the plans?

I'm sure AVDC Conservatives will come up with a plan to ensure that the Travellers are accomodated as far as possible from their constituencies, a la The Eastern Arc.

Perhaps Cllrs Mr Chappell & Thompson would like to suggest Bierton or Watermead and the rest of the local blue sheep can follow bleeting behind them.

Why is it the Gypsies can simply take over a green space, build an empire on it & nothing is done to stop them?
Heck, the moment the council got a sniff that I was extending my driveway (and so digging up 3 square feet of 'their' grass verge (which was already ploughed up by neighbours' inconsiderate parking)) a rep was on my doorstep wanting to know everything?
And why is it these people can simply take over a green space, leave as much litter as they like & live there as long as they like and yet nothing is done?
Why are these people given special dispensation? They contribute NOTHING to the community, they are not a race apart from the rest of us, they are merely a bunch of lazy spongers who are happy to milk the system for everything whilst contributing nothing.
They dislike official sites because it means they might get noticed by the authorities and, as far as they are concerned, they are free spirits.
Fine by me, live and let live and all that - but you want to stay a while somewhere, you must pay just like any other caravanner does

Sorry, forgot myself for a moment, these people aren't Gypsies, they are 'travellers'.
Well keep travelling, we don't want you here.
