£2 million drugs factory in Westcott raided by police

A suspected large scale cannabis factory in Westcott has been raided by police.

Forensic work is currently under way at the suspected large-scale cannabis factory on a small industrial unit near Westcott, following the execution of a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act by Thames Valley Police yesterday (Monday) morning.

Upon arrival at the property, officers discovered an estimated 1,000 cannabis plants in various stages of production.

The plants were growing inside 18 shipping containers, placed side by side inside a warehouse.

Det Ch Insp Rebecca Mears from Aylesbury Police Station said she believed it was one of the largest cannabis factories the force has discovered.

"I would estimate the street value of the drugs we have seized to be well over 2 million."

Twenty nine-year-old Thomas Waite from Ingram Avenue, Aylesbury, has been charged with production of a class B drug.

Twenty nine-year-old Martin Walker from Webster Road, Aylesbury, has been charged with production of a class B drug and supplying a class B drug.

Both men were charged today (17/8) and have been remanded in custody until they appear at Aylesbury Magistrates' Court this afternoon (17/8).
