‘You will be challenged ...I promise’ says Bathurst
Robert Bathurst
It is a battle of freedom and ambition which will change your perceptions about mental health, according to its star Robert Bathurst.
The actor, who is best known for appearing in TV dramas Cold Feet and Downton Abbey, is one of the three cast members in multiple award-winning play Blue/Orange which heads to the Waterside next month.
It follows a power struggle between two doctors over whether to run more tests on a schizophrenic patient or release him into the community.
Robert says it is ‘funny, gripping and psychologically fascinating’ and ‘you get swayed this way and that’ thoughout.
“They might come in with a view, but they will certainly have their opinion challenged, at the very least.
“But there aren’t any firm answers.
“It is crammed full of dilemmas and the audience will be engaged by those dilemmas.
“It’s an exciting and provocative play that will provoke a reaction.”
Robert, who plays the older of the two doctors, jumped at the chance to appear. “It’s the best play I have read for years, when you read something and think ‘I want to be part of this’ it’s worth doing,” he said.
Blue/Orange is at Aylesbury Waterside September 25-29.
