World famous artist's religious work coming to Cheddington
RELIGIOUS art is being displayed at a special exhibition held at the Dadbrook Gallery in Cuddington.
There will be thirty five original lithographs from Marc Chagall's two bible series up for sale at the gallery from Saturday October 4 to
Sunday 12.
Prices start from 350.
The prints were commissioned by the impressionist dealer, Ambroise Vollard and published by the great French lithographers Mourlot Frres in 1956.
They were met with such great acclaim that Chagall made a further set which was published in 1960.
The works at Dadbrook Gallery are from both series.
Clico Kingsbury, Director of Dadbrook Gallery, said: 'We are thrilled to be able to show these important works.
"Chagall's prints are exquisite, in many ways at the same level of
beauty as his works on canvas, but as prints they are far more
accessible for all of us."
