Rising Oxfordshire-based four-piece The Drakes will play the coveted 10pm slot at the First Thursday Music club this week.
The group, who all live within five miles of Thame, formed in spring last year.
Member Dan Mordente, 19, of Thame, said: “It’s really exciting. We have played there before but it is good to come back and play a home town show.
“We have been gigging in London more often than locally recently, it’s good to be back in Thame as we haven’t played there since January.”
Dan describes the band’s sound as predominatly rock, but with a hint of pop that makes it accessible to all ages.

During the 25-minute headline slot on Thursday the boys will only play their own material.
They will perform for the first time without a drummer and on acoustic rather than electric guitars.
Thursday Club spokesman Phil Westerman said: “I know the lead singer Ben, he started coming on his own about two years’ ago. He was very good and then he turned up with this band and they have something about them.
“They have played at the Dublin Castle in London and that’s a very prestegious show. They are giving it a very good go. They have been down a couple of times and played here. They then approached us to ask if they could play the 10pm slot and we were delighted.”
The group will play at the club, in The Stables at The James Figg pub, on September 6. The show is free to watch and from 7.45pm anyone can register to perform on the night.
