Rattigan classic coming to Oxford Playhouse

With a strong cast led by Timothy West, above, Terence Rattigan's The Winslow Boy will be at Oxford Playhouse from Monday to Saturday June 22 to 27.

Ronnie Winslow, a thirteen-year-old naval cadet, is accused of theft. His father and sister take matters into their own hands to prove his innocence and to restore the honour of their family's name.

Based on a real life legal case, The Winslow Boy is an astonishing drama about injustice, the force of the establishment and the power of one family's love and belief in the truth.

One of the UK's most versatile actors, Timothy West's recent stage credits include The Old Country, Death of a Salesman, Macbeth and King Lear at the National Theatre. TV appearances in Edward VII, Hard Times, Churchill and The Generals, and most recently The Alan Clarke Diaries, Bedtime and Bleak House. He also stars in the 2009 film Endgame.

The cast also includes Claire Cox, Diane Fletcher, Adrian Lukis, Sarah Flind, Thomas Howes, Roger May, John Sackville and Hugh Wyld.

The Winslow Boy is directed by Stephen Unwin, the founder of English Touring Theatre and Artistic Director of the Rose Theatre since January 2008.
