Swan Music Fest wraps up this week

New Bays

New Bays

The final music festival for this year at The Swan, Stewkley, kicks off at 3pm on Saturday showcasing five of the best local bands around, all with Stewkley connections.

Kicking the event off will be Stewkley-based The Vintage. The boys have built up a big fan base among the locals with their own renditions of classic covers old and new, with influences from Jimmi Hendrix to Mumford and Sons and Adele.

Next up is The Longueville Hot Club. The band was formed in 2007 and plays a range of covers and original music including jazz and blues, standards through to country/folk and the band’s own arrangements of popular music.

There is the ever popular Leap of Faith followed by New Bays, a young alternative-rock group, playing originals songs with noticeable influences from the Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks and Kings of Leon, and Sir Jester, a pop rock band from the local area.

The event takes place in a heated marquee and is free. There will be hot food, guest beers and a bouncy castle for the children.
