Oakley Players will be performing Flash Gordon: the pantomime next weekend.

The script has been written for the show by its director Kelvin Turner.

It will be staged at Oakley Village Hall on Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm and on Sunday at 2pm.

A spokesman for the production said: “This is a new version of the adventures of the comic-strip hero and his girlfriend, as they save the world from evil intent by the baddies on a distant planet.

“The script is written especially for Oakley Players by the director, with the brilliant sets and costumes also made by members of Oakley Players.

“Despite being an unusual subject for a pantomime, all the essential elements are there: hero, baddies, goodies, jokes, slapstick, and song and dance.”
