Why do AVDC continue to flush away toilet issue?
OUR correspondent Anni from Aylesbury vents her frustration with the district council over the state of the town's toilets.
THANK you to Janet Cope of Bishopstone for bringing up the subject of toilets in Aylesbury (Letters, April 23). Again and again the question is asked and AVDC flush it away with all its other 'ideas'.
The only decent toilet I can find to use is the one alongside Beatties store and thank goodness there is a 'Radar Loo' (disabled) there too.
It is no use AVDC saying "use the facilities of pubs and cafes" because unless you are a customer they don't really like the idea. And why should they?
What a shambles this town is now. I am an Aylesbury person born and bred and it is so sad to see the agonising demise of what used to be a pleasant place to live.
Do AVDC really care about Aylesbury? We keep reading about the vast sums of money the council keeps pushing around with little or nothing to show for it over the years. When are we going to see at least a little result for the people, which is not the consequence of arm twisting by the Government or big business?
We need a heart back in this town with adequate toilet facilities. Hope it happens soon, or there will be more than just rain puddles lingering on the traffic-gridlocked streets.
