THAT's the question being asked by today's correspondent.
ONCE again, we come to the point of Aylesbury's authorities building something that is not in use. Three times I walked through town and low and behold, the information centre was closed with no-one in it.
What is the point of spending all that money on something not being used?

Name and address supplied.

What's your view on the new information centre?

What's the point?
Oh come on Anon, how long have you lived in this area?
You should know by now that the whole point of something is to make our dignitaries look good when they are showing dignitaries from other areas around.
Every now and then they bus in a load of suits, ferry them around a couple of money pits, treat them to a slap up dinner then bus them all back home.
The following week, our dignitaries will then be bussed off to someone else's town where they will be treated to the grand tour of the money pits, a slap up dinner & luxury transport back to Aylesbury.
Can there be any other point to a water clock that's rarely worked or, when it does work, is difficult to tell the time?
Can there be any other point to building a bridge that snakes its way over a railway line & comes in way over budget & way past the official opening date?
(when was the last time you saw a bridge constructed in such a manner? It should be renamed "long way for a short cut"). And now they are putting hundreds of traffic lights at the foot of the bridge to allow pedestrians control of the traffic - tailbacks on that road are bad now, just wait 'till the lights get switched on.
If you want to know about travel information, just ask any poor sap who has to rely on the buses.

Today's Vote

Should the quota of 10,000 new homes for Aylesbury be reduced now that Aylesbury Vale District Council has the chance to revise its figures?
Yes, the quota should be cut significantly
Yes, but we still need to build a large amount of new homes
No, the council should stick to its original plans
