THAT is what today's correspondent thinks about the Horse and Jockey traffic lights in Aylesbury
Living in Wendover, I have just used the disaster traffic lights for
the last few weeks at the Horse and Jockey that some short sighted and not very bright councillors have installed at this junction.

What on earth was the idea of this awful installation, before when it was a roundabout there was none of these horrendous queues of traffic,as all the traffic used to sort it self out- without all these unbelievable traffic snarl ups. More has been lost than has been gained by this waste once again by the doubtful council traffic engineers.

Another vast waste of this council's public money, another one of their hair brained schemes that does not work, how long would these so called traffic planners hold their over paid jobs in private employment?

I am sure they would soon be shown the exit door for screwing up a major contract like this, that is no benefit at all to anyone.

Do you agree with Mr White?

Totally agree, said this from day one as did over 400 residents of Watermead who attended a meeting rejecting the idea of traffic lights before they were installed. However it seems that Bucks County Council are a law unto themselves and do whatever they want and completly disregard taxpayers views and opinions.

It is true, these lights are yet another in a long line of monumental cockups. I avoid the main road like the plague at peak times.
Traffic often queues right down to Henley's roundabout and right up to the prison roundabout at peak times.
And yet, strangely, some days the queue at peak times can be no more than a half dozen cars in either direction! Go figure.
And why the decision to prevent cars from turning right into Buckingham road from below the lights?
