THAT's the view of today's correspondent after plans were revealed to convert the pub into an Islamic cultural centre.
Dear Sir
I know they need somewhere to teach but this pub means a lot to people of Southcourt and surrounding areas.
I have been a regular there since 1999 and found it a very friendly pub where everyone knew everyone. It was one of the only pubs that had a safe garden where you could take kids to have a good play since all the other pubs in the Vale have taken away kids play areas.
I spent a lot of my childhood in the 80s going to the pub with my family as it was a common thing and thought of it as a treat but now these are all being taken away so what are we ment to do spend loads and loads of money to take the kids somewhere where they can just play and the parents can relax.
Whats going on with the Vale its going to upmarket instead of being a Vale with family pubs and places to go, even the parks in the area are a mess and you cant enjoy a day out. Bring back the 80s where you could go out for the day have fun and enjoy yourself without spending the earth .
