End of free parking will hit Buckingham as well as Aylesbury

THIS is the view of today's correspondent, a former mayor of Buckingham.
This week Cllr Kevin McPartland has said no free parking in the vale. He is a cabinet member for civic amenities on AVDC.

Buckingham town council is discussing the free parking with AVDC at this point. If he is saying that free parking is over in the vale, what is the economic outlook for a town like Buckingham?

I think i have the right to make this point to the council tax payers of Buckingham because i was lucky to have been mayor at the time the town council set up the current agreement with AVDC for free parking. A town like Buckingham needs economic support with free parking. If it has given that support, maybe AAVDC should think long and hard before walking away from that.

Or did Cllr McPartland, when he made the comments in The Bucks Herald that free parking will end at christmas, not know Buckingham was in the Vale of Aylesbury? Only he can say.

That would be terrible to charge people in and around Buckingham for car parking fees,lets face it, there is not enough in Buckingham that warrants people to stay for to long. I was born in Bucks, and still visit, and the little town.Just Greed!!!!
