Adopting a balanced health and fitness routine will help you focus your body and mind. It can make you look good, and feel good.
It's not rocket science, but not everyone is taking heed of the message.

The new general manager at Cannons Health & Fitness Club in Fairford Leys, Aylesbury, knows more than most what needs to be done to encourage more people to keep fit.

Richard Whitaker has moved to the town from Fulham and comes with many years of experience.

"I've worked in the fitness industry for 18 years and I'm looking forward to bringing my expertise to the Aylesbury club. Summer is a really important time for the club, so I'm looking forward to implementing lots of great activities over the forthcoming months."

To help kick start the summer, the Cannons Health & Fitness club in Aylesbury is launching its four week summer membership programme.

Available between June 1 and August 31, the membership allows people to sample all the facilities at the club. Whether it's splashing around in the pool, trying the latest exercise class or chilling out in the steam room, activities are available for all the family to enjoy.

Members can work out with the latest fitness equipment in the gym or take part in a high impact, fast moving cycle or body combat class. Alternatively, they can try a low impact stretch class or yoga, which are escalating in popularity due to their wide appeal to people of all ages and fitness levels.

Inductions are offered to all new members and the Cannons team of trained fitness advisors are always on hand to offer advice and suggest additional ways to keep motivated. The Aylesbury club has also recently introduced Fitlinxx; a computerised system designed to help coach and track progress.

Mr Whitaker said: "For those members who want to take some time out from their busy lives, Cannons also offer a range of luxurious relaxation facilities including a steam room, sauna and in-house beauty therapy centre. The Retreat spa offers a range of rejuvenating Elemis treatments including facials, hand and foot treatments, hair removal and luxurious treatments such as wraps and masks.

"Once fully recuperated, members can catch up with friends over a drink in the bar or enjoy a healthy bite to eat in the club lounge.
"The club is a popular place amongst families due to its excellent crèche facilities. It provides children with a safe area for them to play and they even have their own exercise sessions," he said.
