BATMAN hits the big screen once again but this time is referred to as The Dark Knight.
Aiding the streets of Gotham City with his resistance to the criminal scum invasion, something which is high on the list of priorities of the superhero. With the help of lieutenant Jim Gordon and district attorney Harvey Dent, he raises the stakes in his war on crime.

The partnership proves to be effective but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker, played by Heath Ledger. It is Ledger's eerie grin which makes him more dangerous than what he has to unleash. The title of the film instantly leaves a cold chill down your back and when you see a trailer you will get a feel of the film and notice the dark ambience which is almost like film Noir as opposed to the previous ones made with a glossy Hollywood feel.

After the sudden death of Heath on January 22 it was confirmed by Warner Bros that he completed all his scenes and post-production work which means that this was his final appearance in a film. It is currently under question as to whether he will be awarded an Oscar for his stunning performance.

Now Batman's struggle against the Joker becomes deeply personal, forcing him to confront everything he believes and improve his technology to stop him. In a constant battle between the enemies it makes you wonder if the plot will follow the predictable line of good prevailing over evil or if the style of the film surprises you with its ending.
