Musical fusion at Aylesbury's Limelight is out of this world

AT-MA is a magical collaboration between vocalist / composer Russell Stone and multi-instrumentalist / composer / producer Craig Pruess.
Russell is a yoga teacher and psychotherapist, and also a world class vocalist who wrote and performed the hit We Do It in the 1970s with R and J Stone, and has sung with Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Tony Bennett.
Craig is a composer with a string of film scores to his credit, among them Bend It Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice and Bhaji on the Beach. He also teaches yoga and plays sitar.
The At-Ma Project began in earnest in January 2007 as a result of the musical reunion of these two friends. Garnering all their combined life experiences from the intervening 27 years, they started to create the pieces.
They perform contemporary music that is an otherworldly fusion of Western and Eastern influences, weaving the wonderful voice of Russell Stone together with the sympathetic accompaniment of Craig Pruess on sitar, zither and percussion.
Using chant, ancient instruments, and modern technology, their performances are not really concerts at all. Expect improvisation, audience participation and guided meditations as well as the opportunity to chill out and the aim of using the power of music and chant to bring unity and harmony.
If you want to check out this unique evening of music, head for Aylesbury's Limelight Theatre on Saturday September 20 at 8pm. You can get tickets in advance on 01296 424332.
