LIVE music fans are in for a treat as Hobble on the Cobbles returns to Aylesbury town centre for a third year running, this time with Eddie and The Hot Rods headlining.
The raunchy rockers have had three hit albums and four top-forty UK hit singles including the top-ten hit Do Anything You Wanna Do.
Organised by the Aylesbury Showcase on behalf of Aylesbury Town Centre Partnership, Hobble on the Cobbles has become Buckinghamshire's largest all-day free live music festival caters for a wide range of musical tastes from heavy rock to acoustic pop. It takes place on bank holiday Sunday, August 24, from 12pm.
Headlining the second stage is Francis Rodino, a classically trained New Yorker who loves his Italian heritage. He studied at the Verdi Conservatory of Milan, passed his Grade 8 exams in cello with distinction and was inspired by 50s rock n' roll to pick up his Dad's old nylon stringed guitar and start writing songs.
Known for catchy, intense, contemporary pop-rock he says his sounds are intense, intimate and meaningful as he writes of how he feels about life, love, losses and failures. His debut album, Circles and Squares is out now.
Also performing at the event is Buckingham bands The Swamis, The Red Bullets, and Dave Easter, Watford acoustic trio Navaro and Oxford artist Juliana Meyer. Luton band, Loz Jones who wrote and released the song Bring The Ducks Home as the new football anthem for Aylesbury United Football Club earlier this year will be performing the single on the main stage with a few special guests.
Rising stars, Slashed Seat Affair, The Heathers, and Aylesbury band The Powders, who have just released their second album, Warm, will also be performing.
The third stage is exclusively for cover-bands and this year Charlie Don't Surf are headlining.
Stuart Robb from Aylesbury Showcase said: "It's fantastic, we have been inundated with bands from all over the UK wishing to perform. It shows Hobble on the Cobbles is a cool festival.
"In 2006, we had Scouting For Girls, just before they hit the big time and last year King Rat performed at our aftershow party and are now supporting The Feeling, having won most popular band in a national competition.
"Some of the new bands to watch out for this year – to name just a few are Slashed Seat Affair, The Red Bullets and Francis Rodino and we are really pleased and proud to have secured such an amazing line-up for this year's festival."
Stuart added: "This year we've also arranged for The Chopper Club to put on a display of 300 of the best custom made motorcycles.
"The top floor of the Civic Centre Car Park has been reserved to cater for the display and the public are welcome to come along and meet the owners, take photographs, and view some of the best custom built motorcycles from across Europe."
The festival will run until 7pm and the Civic Centre carpark will be closed for parking to the general public all day due to the motorbike display.
An aftershow party at Chicago Rock Café will feature Lisa Theunissen performing a selection of tracks from her new album along with a number of party favourites. A 'school disco' follows until 2am.
The event will help raise money for charity Wheelpower. Donations can be made directly on www.justgiving. com/hobbleonthecobbles
