(FRIDAY JANUARY 12) STILL riding high on the back of the successful Hobble on the Cobbles 2006 free live music festival, which saw John Otway's welcome return to the Market Square stage after 28 years, Aylesbury Showcase have announced they will be putting together a follow-up festival in August 2007.
The date is scheduled for Sunday, August 26 and a number of bands have already started submitting their application forms in the hope they will be selected to perform on the main stage this summer in Market Square, Aylesbury.

Once again, Aylesbur
y Showcase has partnered up with local radio station Mix 96 and internet radio station/multi-media company Pulse Rated for extensive promotional and media coverage of the event.

They will be working with and on behalf of the Aylesbury Town Centre Partnership which is supported by Aylesbury Vale District Council, Aylesbury Town Council, Friars Square Shopping Centre, Hale Leys Shopping Centre, Boots and Marks & Spencer.

In addition, it has been announced that former Marillion frontman/ vocalist/songwriter Fish has already confirmed to headline this event, which attracted more than 4,000 people last summer.

2007 marks the 20th anniversary of Fish's last album with Marillion (entitled Clutching At Straws), and will also see the release of his as yet unnamed forthcoming album.

Aylesbury Showcase organiser and Jam Central Records' managing director Stuart Robb explains: "We are so pleased that the Aylesbury Town Centre Partnership, the police, the local businesses, and of course the general public have given us so much support for this event.

"Last year was such a great event and we intend to make 2007 even bigger and better!

"We are especially pleased to have Fish coming back to Aylesbury as well, after all this time."

Mr Robb's business partner and fellow Aylesbury Showcase organiser Dennis Hall adds: "Following last year's successful event, we hope the businesses and the public will get behind us once again to help make this Aylesbury's biggest free live music event of the year."

Bands wanting to perform at the festival must complete and submit the application form, which can be downloaded from www.AylesburyShowcase.co.uk

Bands who complete the application form are not guaranteed a slot on the main stage.

However if they are talented, exciting, hard working and dedicated, then Aylesbury Showcase will listen to all entries and take each band into consideration. Anyone can apply.
