GUITAR wonder Dimitris Dekavallas known for being a bit more than a good strummer will be performing at The Court Theatre in Tring next Friday, September 26.
Considered by critics to be one of the most talented guitarists of the age, he is an international prize winner possessing an almost limitless and varied repertoire.

He has appeared internationally and throughout the UK enchanting audiences with his technical mastery of his very fine instrument, once owned by John Williams.

Dimitris gave his first public performance at the age of nine at the National Concert Hall in Athens and went on to study at the Athens' Conservatory, graduating in 2002 with first prize and awarded the highest possible mark.

He studied at London's Royal Academy of Music, winning the Major Exhibition Scholarship in the process, and finally graduating with distinction.

He was also given the Blythe Watson Award and a distinction in his LRAM Teaching Diploma.

Since graduations in 2007, his extraordinary prowess has led to concert tours internationally and the UK, including St Martin's in the Field, St Pauls, Sheffield Cathedral and appearing in masterclasses with John Williams, Sir Richard Rodney Bennett and Peter Maxwell Davies.

He has chosen particularly lyrical works for the classical guitar performance at Tring.

The performance will include the works of J S Bach, Albeniz, Rodrigo, Giuliani, Lauro and Morel.

Tickets cost £9 and £6 and can be obtained on 01442 823130 or by logging on to www.courttheatre.co.uk
