POPTASTIC is the word Boy George uses to describe his concert at the Swan Theatre in High Wycombe later this month.
Recently back from a major South American tour the flamboyant British new wave singer is ready and raring to go with his new autumn concert after experiencing lots of love from the crowds there.

His packed UK tour will be filled with his best known and widely loved hits from Culture Club, his solo career, great covers and new writing. Although some of us know him as a dance DJ he says that he always considers himself a musician first and simply fell into the other work.

The Boy Is Back in Town is the name of his new tour which has just under 30 UK concert dates spanning over October and November. In conjunction with his tour he has released his new single, Yes We Can on October 12 which was written by himself and produced by John Themis. It is being remixed for the clubs by Pete Heller, Tom Stefan, Paul Harris and Kinky Roland.

Talking about his new work, the charismatic singer told The Bucks Herald: "I wrote and recorded the song which was inspired by Barrack Obama and his inspirational speeches throughout his campaign for the US presidency.

"We've sampled his voice throughout the track, it's about his journey and also about what I've been going through too – it's very uplifting.

"The whole show will be optimistic, as you know usually I write love songs but this is still personal because it is about what I have been going through and my journey in life.

"Last year I wanted to enjoy myself more and now I long to reach the point when people do not ask about my problems. I am very happy and upbeat at the moment which is reflected in my music."

If you are a fan of his fashions as well as music then not only should you be buying some concert tickets but you should be visiting his clothes store B-Rude in London's Shoreditch area of East London.

After making an album and several singles George made a minor comeback in late 1992 with the title song from the movie The Crying Game - his first U.S. hit since the days of Culture Club. He later released a frank autobiography before reuniting for a Culture Club reunion tour in 1998.
