Police plan jewellery theft crackdown in Vale

Police are cracking down on jewellery thefts in rural Aylesbury Vale after a spate of burglaries.
From October 1 to the end of February there have been 29 burglaries where thieves have targeted jewellery.
The thieves have been targeting unoccupied houses, on different days of the week, between 11am and 4pm.
They usually ransack the house for valuable jewellery and electrical items including laptops.
One group of potential thieves were seen on January 14 in Pitstone. The three men were spotted with a white van possibly with red sign writing.
Det Insp Simon Steel from Aylesbury Police Station said: “We urge homeowners to keep their valuable jewellery in an approved safe.
“It is also important to photograph the jewellery so that if it is stolen the police will have a clear description of the items.”
Anyone with any information should contact Det Insp Steel using the 24-hour Police Enquiry Line 101.
