Inspiring Vale teen sets the trend by shaving her head for charity

Aylesbury College hairdressing student Sophia Harley is shaving her head as part of Sue Ryder’s Febru-hairy campaign - and hopes other teenage girls will follow suit.

The 18-year-old decided to take part in the campaign after losing a family member to cancer. She said: “One of the things I wanted to do when I trained as a hairdresser was to learn how to cut wigs for people who have lost their hair during treatment.

“This was my opportunity to raise money for an issue that is really important to me.”

Fellow students at the college will be doing the shaving at 1pm on Wednesday.
