A LOCAL farmer believes his new steak pies give a real taste of Terrick- and in the process help strengthen the sense of community in the tiny hamlet.
Farmer Geoff Brunt first started selling his beef direct to the public nearly two years ago, and enjoyed great success with sales, and he is now trying to tempt people with his steak pies.

He said: "We are very excited about the pies and my family and I have had great fun eating as many as possible- all in the name of market research and quality control of course."

There are two flavours- traditional Terrick Beef steak and kidney, and Terrick Beef steak and ale, which is made using Lord Lieutenant's Porter from the Chiltern Brewery, also based in the hamlet.

"It's a totally unique and local flavour," said Mr Brunt. "I was born in Terrick and have lived here all my life.

"Aylesbury Vale is one of the best areas in the country for producing quality beef, and I think supplying locally branded food helps to give a sense of community, pride and belonging to the people living here."

He added: "We have some terrifically loyal and friendly customers and I really enjoy talking to them on our sale days.

"They have been very enthusiastic about the pies and we have received fabulous feedback."

The pies, which are large enough for two to share, are prepared by butcher Simon Parminter who packs them with beef which is hung for 28 days.

Terrick Beef, Terrick Lamb and Terrick Beef pies are sold from Grove Farm, Risborough Road, Terrick on the first Friday and Saturday of each month.
