AYLESBURY Vale District Council leader John Cartwright talks BHTV through the Waterside theatre works, which are now well underway on Exchange Street.
Cllr Cartwright tells BHTV about the progress of the works, the hopes and timescale for the project and even points out where certain areas of the new theatre are beginning to take shape.

BHTV were granted special access to the site of the works and were allowed to enter the deep excavation pit as the huge foundations are laid into place.

You can see just where the theatre stalls, orchestra pit, stage and even walkways will be constructed ready for the targeted grand opening at the end of 2009.

Cllr Cartwright said: "I've been with this project right from the beginning when it was just a little gem of an idea, so it really is exciting to see it all taking shape like this, a real thrill."

What do you think of the Waterside theatre project? Is it just what the town needs or an AVDC white elephant?
